Here's a short update on my life.

1.  I am no longer in possession on the famed "Silver Bullet."  Insurance declared it a total loss and I have been compensated for my loss.  I am now a proud owner of 1991 Buick Regal.  After I learned of the loss of the "Bullet", my dad suggested giving me their old Buick and they would buy a new car.  This would allow me some more time to look and save money for a better car.  So thanks Dad and Mom for a car, and a free one at that.

2.  As of the first week in January, I will be an resident of Pennsylvania.  Randy Disert (a good friend) stopped by Dayton a few months ago on his way to Winona Lake and asked me if I would be interested in moving out to Telford and being a part of an internship/apprenticeship program at his church, the Penn Valley GBC.  In late October, I went out to PA to visit family and friends and to talk with Tim Boal and Larry Orme about their internship program.  It sounded like a great program, so after a couple of weeks of discussion with my parents and prayer, I decided to join the program.

3.  My parents and I had the joy of watching my niece and nephews the preceding weekend to Thanksgiving and with my brother and Liz over the Thanksgiving holiday.  Never in my life have I seen so many toys strewn throughout the house and so much noise from such little people.  It was a never-ending time of laughter, crying and screaming.

Here is Brayden enjoying on of his two daily naps.  How would the lives of adults be different with two daily naps?  I am pretty sure that there would definitely be some less-grumpy people in this world if we each had out naps.  (I can't help laughing over his body positioning)

Here are the three grandkids riding grandpa's motorcycle.  Yes, my dad has sinced cleaned the garage.

After a great week of vacation in the Keystone State visiting family and friends, I ended my trip with an unexpected event.  After traveling some 400 miles on my way home on Friday, I was involved in a car accident a mere 15 miles from home.  Luckily no one was hurt and damage to the other vehicle seemed minimal (from what I could see).

Here is the old "Silver Bullet"

Note: Antifreeze leaking below car, I thought it had all drained out, but woke up Saturday morning to find it had continued to leak all over the road.

Throughout the summer, my dad and I have been talking about taking some sort of hiking/camping trip.  Other than the occasional mention of such a trip, no thought was given to dates or places.  It happened that several weeks ago I was given three days off from work, so my dad dropped everything at the office and we headed to Hocking Hills SP.  Hocking Hills SP is a pretty interesting place hidden in SE Ohio (not to far from Athens).  Comprised of eroded sand stone and tales of hermits and indians, HH is full of history and God's handiwork.   Here are some pics of out trip.

Here's my dad (I am very glad he wears his fanny pack on his shoulder and not his waist)

Here's me in Old Man's Cave

Here is one of the many waterfalls that cascades down to the canyon floor, except when you come in late August and there is only a trickle of water

Yes, that car is hanging by a chain from that tree!

Thank God for a dad that will drop everything at work to spend a few days with his son!

when do we stop dreaming our dreams and start living them?

how does living the christian life mesh with living the american dream?

certainly there are qualities of stewardship and responsibility in both, but what else?

if there is nothing else, then why is there a constant pressure to conform to the pursuit of the american dream from other christians?

and their disappointing looks and questions when you are not pursuing it?

what does it mean to be in this world, but not of it?

why am i torn between 'responsibility' (which seems to me conforming to american standards of pursuing success) and dreams?

which one is right, which one is wrong?

it has been too long...my life has changed considerably since my last post.  i am now employed and after starting classes at osu last week, have officially become a buckeye.

here is a pic of myself on the top of the eiffel tower.  realize i have very few pics of myself at some of the places i visited while in europe, mainly cause i visited many of them by myself.  so thanks to one of the millions of american tourists that visit paris every year.

one of the coolest things i saw in france was this automatic pizza machine, you ordered from a limited selection of pizzas and inserted your money and after a few minutes out shot a pipin' hot pizza.  pretty cool, huh?
